A Glimpse into CISV international that ST KABIR has partnered with Founded in 1950, today CISV International has a presence in more than 60 countries with over 200 chapters or local groups. It is a UNESCO partner Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), holds participatory status with the Council of Europe and is a Candidate Member of the European Youth Forum. In over 60 years of its existence, CISV has given countless children and young people opportunities and experiences to build lasting friendships and imbibe crucial values and skills through its various international educational programs.

Purpose

CISV has a vision of a more just and peaceful world; CISVERS believe that they can all take the responsibility for making this happen. This vision gives a mission, which is summed up clearly in the Statement of Purpose: CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world.

  • Village (11 years)
  • Step Up (14 – 15)
  • International Youth Meeting (12 – 19+)

  • Seminar Camp (17 – 18)
  • International People’s Project (19+)

Upcoming CISV Chapter at Chandigarh

St Kabir Public School is spearheading efforts to establish a full-fledged CISV Chapter at Chandigarh.
Over the past few years a number of students from our school have participated in various International Camps of CISV and have experienced a perceptible expansion of their worldview.

The Chandigarh CISV Chapter has successfully hosted two International Camps –
CISV Youth Meeting in December 2017 where delegates from Thailand, India, Norway, Sweden and USA participated and CISV Step Up in June 2018 with delegations participating from Canada, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Norway, Sweden and USA.

We are gearing up again to host an eight day CISV Youth Meeting Camp at Chandigarh from 31st December 2018 to 7th January 2019.
