Assesment & Promotion
  1. During the Academic Year, the students appear for various summative tests/exams.
    • UNIT TESTS
    • THE FIRST TERMINAL EXAMINATION
    • THE FINAL EXAMINATION
    (Schedule on separate page).

    Students are assessed on the basis of their performance in the unit tests, the two examinations and the written assignments. Assignments are assessed for grasp of subject, presentation of work, punctuality in submission of work..

    The marks distribution is as follows:

    First Terminal and Final Examination              80 marks each.
    The Unit Tests (One Cycle each term)            20 marks each.

  2. The final result is based on progress made in daily work and the average
    of the marks in the Unit Tests and the two examinations.

  3. There will be no re-test for any student. If a child misses a test his/her result will be calculated on the basis of daily progress, the term's work and performance in the other tests.

    Sick children should not be sent to school for the test/examinations. They carry infection and shall not be allowed to appear for the test. Partial leave of absence shall not be granted on Unit Test an Examination days (See also Leave point # 9; and Recommendations to Parents, point # 13).


  4. The Progress Report must be signed by the Parents/Guardians and, returned to the school within 3 days.

  5. Wilful breach of any of the regulations for the conduct of an examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination or if subsequent discovered, the cancellation of the answer script.

  6. Classes I and II shall follow a separate examination pattern. Subsequently there shall be no First Terminal or Final Examination for them. Instead they shall have 4 Assessment Cycles during the session. The marks, 20 for each cycle shall be converted into grades.

  7. Results declared at the close of the year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
