The National Cadet Corps is a prestigious organization with a presence in schools and colleges all over India. As per its motto, “UNITY AND DISCIPLINE”, it aims to inculcate in the students the same values and ethics from the beginning.
This year 20 NCC Cadets of St. Kabir Public School were selected to represent the school at the Annual Training Camp held at NCC Academy, Rupnagar, Punjab from 22nd June 2018 to 1st July 2018. A total of 14 schools of Chandigarh sent their NCC contingents to participate in the camp. Over 300 cadets were present there from Chandigarh to give their best.
Each school had to participate and prove their mettle in 5 competitions i.e. Drill, Tug Of War, Volleyball, Quiz, and a Cultural Event. The cadet who performs well in all five competitions is selected for the Best Cadet Competition. Best cadet competition tests a cadet’s brilliance in Drill, Firing with a Rifle and a Written Exam.
After competing with 13 other selected cadets of other schools of Chandigarh, Cadet Nishchay Jindal of St. Kabir Public School was awarded the Best Cadet among them.
After 10 days of hard work, our school stood at 2nd position among the 14 schools which participated in all over Chandigarh. Our school stood 1st in Tug of War and 3rd in Quiz Competition. We even scored well in Drill Competition, Volleyball and Cultural Event. We marched with full glory towards the stage among a huge round of applause from the audience.
As the motto of NCC says “UNITY AND DISCIPLINE”, all the cadets showed a great unity and a sense of discipline. The camp also induced the quality of self-dependence in the cadets and helped them to get used to army life through a lot of challenges. Special thanks to the Associate NCC Officer of our school, Mr. Ram Kumar Sharma for his assistance and constant support throughout the camp.
