AP Exam 2025-2026

THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM® (AP®)

The AP Program offers college-level courses and exams you can take in high school. With qualifying AP Exam scores, students can earn credit and/or advanced placement or both.

College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® is recognized by universities around the world as a standard of academic excellence. Since 1955, the AP® Program has enabled millions of students to take U.S. university undergraduate-level courses and earn undergraduate degree credit, advanced placement, or both while still in high school/secondary school. Today, secondary students worldwide can complete university-level coursework in 40 subjects and demonstrate proficiency by taking standardized end-of-course AP Exams.

Nearly all colleges and universities in the United States and more than 4000 universities in 100 countries, (such as the U.K., Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, etc.), consider AP participation favourably for admission and have policies around AP credit and placement.

AP Exams are administered once every year during the first two weeks of May.

Students are strongly encouraged to register during the first window, between September and November (prior to the testing year), to ensure they have ample time to prepare.

  • An edge in college.
  • Skip introductory university classes.
  • Save money on tuition.
  • Build skills and confidence.

A Head Start in High School: Research consistently shows that AP students are better prepared for college than students who don’t take AP, regardless of their exam scores. They’re more likely to enroll and stay in college, do well in their classes, and graduate in four years.
